Gabrielle Raumberger is an American art director and designer. Based in California, Raumberger designed musical packaging and promotional materials for Warner Bros. Records, and later oversaw a team of designers and artists at Geffen Records. In 1990, she opened EPOS Inc., an art studio dedicated to brand development. Her design for Barbara Streisand's compilation album, Just for the Record..., was nominated for Best Album Package at the 34th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 1992.
Scope and Contents
The Gabrielle Raumberger Collection spans the years 1971 to 2005 and includes some undated materials. The collection contains artist files, publications, posters, and promotional materials created through the work of designer Gabrielle Raumberger. Artist files, publications, and posters are arranged alphabetically by artist; promotional materials, by subject. Musicians featured prominently in the collection include Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Neil Diamond, the Eagles, Bryan Ferry, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Lionel Richie, Bruce Springsteen, and U2, as well as Olivia Newton-John. Materials related to Inductees Aerosmith, Jackson Browne, Depeche Mode, Dire Straits, Peter Gabriel, Guns n' Roses, George Harrison, the Isley Brothers, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, John Lennon, Joni Mitchell, New Order, Pink Floyd, Prince, Ramones, R.E.M., Robbie Robertson, and Paul Simon are also in the collection, as well as Paul Abdul, Anita Baker, Coldplay, and the Replacements. The collection highlights the integral role of artists and designers in the music industry, shaping the visuals and aesthetics of musicians' public identities.
