Biography / Administrative History
Gene Vincent (February 11, 1935-October 12, 1971) was an American musician who pioneered the styles of rock and roll and rockabilly. His 1956 top ten hit with his band the Blues Caps, “Be-Bop-A-Lula,” is considered a rockabilly classic. He was inducted into to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
Scope and Contents
The Bobby Jones Collection on Gene Vincent consists of ESSO Standard Oil Company credit card signed by Gene Vincent dated March 31, 1957 and a poster for Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps dated 1950.
