- Biographie / Histoire administrativeDarlene Love is an American popular music singer and actress. For much of her early career she worked in relative anonymity in studios and on stages, backing up others. Love sang lead on a string of Phil Spector-produced hits from the early Sixties, including "He's a Rebel," "He's Sure the Boy I Love," "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah," "(Today I Met) The Boy I'm Gonna Marry," "Wait Til My Bobby Gets Home," "Why Do Lovers Break Each Other's Hearts?" and the seasonal classic "(Christmas) Baby Please Come Home." She released her first solo album in 1988 and first gospel album a decade later. Love was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.
- Etendue et contenuThe Darlene Love Collection contains materials from the 1960s through the 2000s, covering the span of her career. Love collected clippings of her career from the 1960s through the 2000s; the clippings range from magazines to newspapers around the country. Photos in the collection include one autographed publicity shot and several candid photos. Included is a letter from the Rhythm and Blues Foundation for her Pioneer Award, given in 1994. There is a VHS tape from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum's Black History Month television program in 1999. The collection is arranged by format.
