Elliot Mazer was an American sound engineer and music producer. Born in 1941, Mazer began working at radio stations at age 21 and worked his way into production. He began his career by working on albums such as Big Brother and the Holding Company's "Cheap Thrills" and Linda Ronstadt's "Silk Purse." He later moved to Nashville and co-found Quadrafonic Sound Studios in 1971. Mazer then produced Neil Young's "Harvest" which began a decades-long relationship with the musician. Throughout his career, Mazer worked with a number of well-known artists including Chubby Checker, Janis Joplin, Gordon Lightfoot, The Band, and Dead Kennedys. He continued producing until the 2000s and also taught classes in music production and business. Mazer died in 2021 at the age of 79.
