Series V: Audio Recordings consists of seventeen audiocassette recordings of interviews with performers, producers, and record executives key to the evolution of hip hop. Individuals featured include Mary J. Blige, Chuck D (Public Enemy), Lyor Cohen (formerly of Def Jam), Posdnuos (De La Soul), Missy Elliott, Eminem, Ice-T, Jay-Z, the Looters [Brown Town Looters?], Naughty By Nature, N.W.A. (Niggaz Wit Attitudes), Hank Shocklee (Bomb Squad production team), and Russell Simmons (cofounder Def Jam).

Digital reproductions of these audiocassettes are available upon request (DAMS).

The condition of some of these materials has not yet been determined for playback purposes and they are, therefore, RESTRICTED. Access copies of these materials may have to be created prior to use.
