The Dennis Madden Collection dates from 1964 to 1969 and includes some undated materials. The collection consists of correspondence, photographs, programs and brochures, and posters documenting popular music culture of the 1960s. The Beatles are prominently represented, including a letter from John Lennon to American architect Buckminster Fuller and photographic prints related to the 1968 White Album.
Additional materials include brochures documenting the Woodstock Music and Art Fair as presented in the 1970 documentary Woodstock, as well as a magazine spread from Electric Last Minute featuring a poster of Jimi Hendrix. Materials are arranged alphabetically by format. In its entirety, the Dennis Madden Collection of Correspondence and Promotional Materials provides a glimpse into the music scene of the 1960s and 1970s.
