His photography career began when he developed a newspaper column covering bands performing at Pirate's World, an amusement park in Florida. Through this work, Singer was granted unlimited backstage access to photograph and interview the bands and artists who performed there.
- Form und InhaltThe Larry Singer Collection, dated 1971–1983, consists primarily of 332 digital photographs from DVD-Rs that document rock and roll musicians and live performances. The collection also includes a transcript of an interview conducted by Jim Esposito with guitarist Richie Blackmore. The photographs depict a range of prominent rock artists and bands, including Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Quiet Riot, the Clash, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Ozzy Osbourne, and Bruce Springsteen. The majority of the images were taken at concert venues in southern Florida, most notably at Pirate’s World, an amusement park that hosted numerous rock performances during the period. The collection documents the live performance environment and backstage access associated with rock music in the 1970s and early 1980s.
