David Sancious Collection

David Sancious is an American musician, best known as a keyboard player and guitarist. He was an early member of Bruce Springsteen's backing group, the E Street Band. Sancious left the E Street Band in 1974 to form his own band, Tone, and released several albums. He became a well known session and touring musician, working with Sting, among others. Sancious was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the E Street Band in 2014.

The David Sancious Collection is dated 1963-1993 and includes undated materials. The collection contains clippings, flyers, and personal papers documenting Sancious' early career with the E Street Band and his own work in Tone. Of note are handwritten arrangements for "New York City Serenade" and "Transformation" in addition to three set lists from Sancious' touring with Sting. The collection documents Sancious' career and provides insight into his development as a musician.
